There is a difference.
by Ken Kreisler
Sailfish is known for designing boats — whether center or dual console, walk-arounds or bay boats — that are made for both family outings as well as deep-water action.
The 290 CC runs on its Variable Degree Stepped (VDS) hull, which translates to having three distinct hull bottoms. The first, with its deep deadrise, cuts through the water, while the next two acts to provide lift and stability. With an ample bow flare to damp down spray, the combination results in a safe and comfortable ride when conditions may unexpectedly change. And with all composite construction with zero wood used anywhere, as well as the hull and deck being reinforced with Kevlar and carbon fiber, there is built-in durability and strength for peace of mind while underway.
Being a spirited performer is also a big part of the Sailfish 290 CC. Power options include a pair of Yamaha F250XCA or 300XCA and twin Mercury 250XL/300XL Verado engines.
