Watersports options make a great jetboat even better.

by Craig Ritchie

Jetboats have really caught on with a number of boaters who value their spirited performance and ability to operate in even the shallowest water without fear of chipping a prop.

Scarab’s impressive 195 ID raises the jetboat bar higher yet, adding unique watersports capabilities that make a great platform even better.

In spite of its svelte 18-foot, 10-inch overall length, the 195 ID seats eight adults comfortably thanks to its efficient interior layout. Dual forward-facing loungers in the bow provide plenty of space to put your feet up and stretch out underway, while a third rear-facing seating position along the centerline turns this space into a great spot for conversation when on the hook. Or pop in a removable cushion to turn the entire bow into an inviting sunpad.
Swiveling bucket seats with pull-up bolsters for the driver and companion rotate easily when at rest to face a full wraparound cockpit seat, creating another terrific entertaining space. The 195 ID’s stern seat deserves special mention for its tremendous utility; a removable centerline cushion pops out to reveal a generous walk-through to the extended rear swim platform, complete with a stainless steel boarding ladder.
Seatbacks on either side of the walk-through can adjust as desired to provide forward-facing or aft-facing seating, while the optional full-width versa lounge also delivers a large aft sunpad when laid flat.
But what sets this boat apart is its performance as a watersports platform. The standard ski tow on the transom provides a small hint, but adding the available Wake Edition Package transforms the 195 ID, with a gas-assisted, collapsible wakeboard tower complete with board racks, a ballast system and a digital speed control package for precision control. With its jet power and unexposed propeller, the Scarab is arguably the safest wakesurfing platform on the water.
“Customization is where the 195 ID shines, offering a ton of great features from wake enhancement, ballast systems and powerful audio to stylish flooring, bow fill-ins and a sunpad,” says Josh Buck, marketing for Group Beneteau Americas. “It’s a great all-around choice for boaters looking to enjoy the Great Lakes.”
