Sea Ray 400 Fly

Sunny and spacious.

Fly is the short version of flybridge; however, hipsters, rappers and social media have been using the word to describe something that is cool and in style — like Sea Ray’s new 400 Fly.

Multiple entertainment venues greet you at the transom, where the extended swim platform doubles as a teak beach or hydraulic tender launch, and provides access to the optional transom gourmet space. A grill and sink with storage drawers underneath keep the party outdoors for meals and entertaining.

Another optional cooking venue is available on the flybridge, adjacent to the U-shaped settee and table, and is complete with a handy fridge. The main galley is located on the salon level.

Sea Ray has moved the flybridge helm station to port, created an impressive command center outfitted with multifunction displays of your choosing, and provided an expansive gathering point on the bridge with each seat offering incomparable views.

Recessed bow seating with a sunpad and a folding backrest — complete with beverage holders and a Sunbrella sunpad cover — is ideal while at anchor.

Below in the “Sunroom” (aka salon), large windows, a sunroof and aft doors work in harmony to erase lines between indoor and outdoor — all part of Sea Ray’s SkyFlow Design philosophy. The natural light illuminates the cabinets and wood decking, which is finished in Chestnut, Prestige Cherry Gloss or Pecan Woodline Matte. Honeycomb blinds are standard, and a privacy curtain is fitted for the aft door. Inviting sofas frame both the port and starboard cabin walls to create a clean, unencumbered space for moving forward in the Sunroom from the cockpit to the lower helm.

A striking front window with narrow mullions offers excellent visibility for the skipper and navigator seated side-by-side on a one-step raised deck. In front of them is a Raymarine e125 widescreen color LCD and radar/GPS/chartplotter, with room for a second display, Smartcraft diagnostics, a VHF, and controls for the optional bow and stern thrusters.

Two staterooms are standard, including a full-beam master stateroom, and the Sea Ray 400 Fly is offered with either a single- or dual-head layout.

There are many options available that should be discussed with your dealer, depending on whether you are going for a weekend or a long-term cruise.
