Seakeeper is now offering Seakeeper and Seakeeper Ride sizing and software to support power catamarans up to 55 feet, delivering more stability while at rest and underway. “With more than 1,000 catamarans built each year, customers are asking for stabilization, and Seakeeper is delivering,” says Seakeeper president and CEO Andrew Semprevivo. “We don’t do anything halfway, so we waited to focus on catamarans to provide them with the attention they deserved, and I know from experience that the performance improvements on these platforms are transformational.”
Seakeeper Ride’s current software will provide impressive underway pitch, roll and yaw stabilization on catamarans, with custom software specifically optimized for catamarans’ unique performance characteristics expected to be released early next year. The software provides enhanced underway stabilization and enables catamarans to naturally bank into turns much more like traditional monohull vessels.
The Seakeeper option is already available on some catamaran brands, but with more testing and better understanding of the variances in catamaran hull design, Seakeeper can more confidently size these vessels with up to 18 foot beams going forward for builder integration or refit applications. SeaHunter Boats will be the first catamaran builder to offer Seakeeper Ride as standard equipment across its full catamaran line, and offers the Seakeeper option as well for the ultimate stabilized platform.
“We don’t just want to be a brand that says we make the best boats,” explains Chris Conard, vice president of SeaHunter Boats. “We work hard at building the safest, fastest and driest boats available, and that means incorporating the latest technology from other innovative companies to improve upon our already great-riding boats. The incredible performance of both products made the decision to incorporate both Seakeeper and Seakeeper Ride into our models a no-brainer.”
