Seven Michigan Marinas Named Certified Clean Marinas

The Michigan Clean Marina Program announced seven marinas across Michigan have been added to the Certified Clean Marinas list. Each has a three-year term and followed a specific certification process that began with a pledge to participate. Each marina then took an educational course on the practices of clean marinas, conducted a self-evaluation of the marina, noted and improved on weaknesses, and finally was visited by a CMP consultant to check goals and award designation.

The seven marinas are: Harbour Towne Marina Association in Muskegon; Elmwood Township Marina in Traverse City; Lake St. Clair Metropark Marina and Markley Marine in Harrison Township; Manitou Beach Marina in Manitou Beach; Silver Spray Sports in Fenton; and Emerald City Harbor in St. Clair Shores. One marina also was granted re-certification, the Woodland Marina in Heartland.
