Have you ever wondered how the great ships of the Great Lakes get built? For one day only, you are invited to go behind the scenes and see the workings of two ship yards: the largest shipyard on the Great Lakes, Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding and Centerpointe Yacht Services. Both shipyards are located in downtown Sturgeon Bay.
Both shipyards will offer guided tours of their construction and repair facilities this Saturday, May 5th. Sturgeon Bay has been a shipbuilding city for over a century where shipbuilders have designed, built and repaired all manner of vessels that have traveled around the globe.
Tours of several other boats will also be available including the US Coast Guard Cutter Mobile Bay, the Fred A Busse (Chicago Fireboat), and the Emergency Rescue boat from the Canal Station along with the Sturgeon Bay Police Boat.
