Summer Sailstice Set for June 18-19

By May 31, 2016No Comments

The summer solstice is coming up, which means it’s time for sailing enthusiasts to unite for the Summer Sailstice weekend June 18-19. The global annual event has been held for the past 15 years in order for sailors to gather and celebrate their passion for sailing.

This summer, 19,000 sailors are expected to participate in local events. For example, in British Columbia, Jeanneau sailboat owners will rendezvous at Poet’s Cove on Pender Island. The Muncie Sailing Club in Indianapolis, Indiana, will hold their “Call of the Conch” Funny Man Regatta, and the Saratoga Lake Sailing Club in New York will offer free sails on the water in order to introduce more people to the sport of sailing.
