The first annual Great Lakes Surf Festival will feature the Pro-Am Paddle Race on August 18. The race, open to paddleboarders and kayakers, will begin along the Pere Marquette Beach shoreline and will finish five miles downwind at the Great Lakes Surf Festival Venue in Muskegon, Michigan. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
“We have designed this race to accommodate all types of racers and paddling disciplines,” says Great Lakes Surf Festival Founder Joe Bidawid. “We feel that the venue and the timing are ideal for such a race and we are elated to have Mik DeBoet as our race director.”
