The Moorings, Sunsail Reopen BVI Base

By December 12, 2017No Comments

The Moorings and Sunsail have announced that their British Virgin Islands charter base is now reopened in Road Town, Tortola. The two yacht chartering companies closed their BVI base earlier this year after the Caribbean sustained extensive damage from hurricanes.

“The humanitarian response from customers, partners, and employees following September’s hurricanes was overwhelming, and the tenacity of the local communities has been nothing short of inspiring,” said Josie Tucci, vice president of sales and marketing for The Moorings, in a press release. “We believe it is this heartfelt combination of commitment and resilience that has helped us come back so strong.”

Both companies are bouncing back with a combined fleet of more than 100 ready-to-rumble yachts. An additional investment of $66.5 million will bring a total of 130 additional boats to the Islands early next year.

The Moorings and Sunsail are also encouraging boaters to donate to their Caribbean Comeback fundraiser, which will send 100 percent of all monetary contributions to the BVI, St. Martin and Puerto Rico employees for long-term hurricane relief efforts. Boaters can donate at CaribbeanComeback.com.
