Mark Jakob, from Clifton, Illinois, scored a “ trifecta” with two heat wins and the victory in the 30-lap final heat race at the Third Annual Whiskey City Regatta on June 16, 2018, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Jakob battled all day long with second place finisher, Lee Daniel, from North Augusta, South Carolina, on the Ohio River race course. Daniel scored second place in all three heats. The action was just as hot as the temperature, as it reached 100 degrees.
Breakwater Powerboat Association, based in Millersport, Ohio, organized the SST120/ Formula Two class tunnel boat racing series.
