Torqeedo Introduces New Flagship Cruise Model

By December 1, 2015No Comments

Torqeedo produces a wide range of environmentally friendly outboards, inboards, electric motors and hybrid drive systems, and has recently unveiled what it’s calling the new flagship model for its low-voltage Cruise line.

“The Cruise 10.0 provides a clean, green and quiet alternative for commercial and recreational users who prefer the simplicity and easy handling of a low-voltage system, but require more speed, thrust and power than previously available,” says Steve Trkla, president and general manager of Torqeedo.

The emission-free, 20 horsepower-equivalent can plane light boats at up to 28 mph. The Cruise 10.0 comes standard with an integrated electric tilt, marine lithium battery, and marine-grade aluminum frame for reliable handling in rugged environments. The Cruise 10.0 mounts to the boat’s remote steering and is available in three different shaft lengths. The outboard also features a full display, which shows battery status and GPS-calculated range and speed.

For the tech-savvy, the Cruise 10.0 also works with TorqTrac, Torqeedo’s smartphone app. TorqTrac lets users to monitor motor, GPS and mapping data in real time and full color.

Torqeedo also expects to have a tiller-steered version ready by 2017.
