Traverse City Uncorked Celebrates Wine Month

By March 23, 2018No Comments

No need to fly to Napa for a wine tasting; Traverse City has you covered. In celebration of May’s Michigan Wine Month, Traverse City Uncorked will be holding a number of events and activities centered around the wine and the region’s grape-growing areas.

Traverse City Uncorked takes place the entire month of May and includes complimentary wine tastings, discounted lodging packages, winery events and souvenirs. Wine for the festivities comes from the region’s Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas, which are designated American Viticultural Areas (AVA). A total of 35 wineries call this region home and make up the Traverse Wine Coast. Vinos can expect to find familiar varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc.

Attendees can mark their calendars for specific events, such as Spring Sip & Savor on Leelanau Peninsula from May 5-6; Blossom Day on Old Mission Peninsula on May 19; a progressive dinner with Leelanau winemakers on the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail on May 31; and Sips n’ Giggles, a love comedy show pairing on May 19.

Wine enthusiasts can find a more detailed list of events at traversecityuncorked.com.
