A staple at boat shows for 30 years, Twiggy the water skiing squirrel is skiing her way into retirement.
Introduced to the world by Floridians Chuck Best and his wife, Lou Ann, Twiggy burst onto the boat show scene in the late 1980s, bringing smiles to spectators young and old.
After a boating accident took Chuck’s life, Lou Ann took a break from touring with Twiggy. She later dedicated all of her performances to boating safety, encouraging boaters to develop strong swimming skills and to always wear a life jacket when on the water. Lou Ann made sure that even Twiggy slipped into her custom-made squirrel life jacket every time she donned her skis.
Twiggy has toured Europe and Asia and has even made appearances in the movies “Anchorman” and ‘Dodgeball.’ Twiggy also had a cameo in a Brad Paisley music video.
