Susan Bonivich was recently named the 2016 Darlene Briggs Woman of the Year at the Marine Dealer Conference & Expo. Bonivich is the OEM/dealer sales manager for Volvo Penta of the Americas and is the second woman at Volvo Penta to receive the award within the past decade.
The Darlene Briggs Award was established in 1987 for Darlene Briggs, the first retail marine saleswoman in Minnesota and the first female member of her state marine trades association. Each year the recipient of the Darlene Briggs Woman of the Year Award is chosen by the MRAA Educational Foundation and Boating Industry magazine based on leadership, involvement in business trade organizations and volunteer activities.
In addition to her work at Volvo Penta, Bonivich has been a member of the National Association of Purchasing Managers, served as president of the Hampton Roads Purchasing Managers and cumulatively raised nearly $100,000 for the American Cancer Society, among other accomplishments.
