On August 20, the all-female crews for eXXpedition Great Lakes 2016 will set sail on the first leg of their trip through the Great Lakes, Lake St. Clair and the St. Lawrence River.
eXXpedition aims to shed light on the link between human health and plastic pollution in our waterways by conducting water samplings for plastics, chemicals and toxins for organizations such as the United Nations.
The team is inviting the public to join them on August 20 for a day of citizen science by participating in water sampling and beach clean up.
