Yamaha Marine Group held its annual Media Days in September in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where they showcased the all-new F-90, F-25 and Helm Master products. Known for their reliability and functionality, Yamaha motors are big in the offshore, saltwater market but are now making big strides into the Great Lakes freshwater market, as well.
The F-90 engine has been redesigned to make it lighter and easier to handle. The F-75 is a smaller, updated version of the F-90. The IBEX Innovation Award-winning F25 is the lightest engine of that class in the market at 126 pounds. Its battery-less Electronic Fuel Injection start and optional electric start kit are exciting new features.
Also new from Yamaha is the easy-to-use digital Helm Master, a fully integrated boat control system that uses a joystick and is available on new boats with Yamaha engine packages.
Most recently introduced is the Talon SS4 Propeller. The unique propeller combines instant acceleration and high lifting capability with the stealth approach needed to help dominate flats fishing. The new propeller features the latest iteration of Yamaha’s patented Shift Dampener System, which greatly reduces shift clunk and vibrations at low speeds.
