Eastern Michigan Receives Two EPA Grants

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) two federal Great Lakes Restoration Initiative grants totaling $1.25 million have been awarded to Detroit and St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Detroit will use $1 million to turn vacant lots into green space to reduce the discharge of untreated storm water into the sewer system, while St. Clair Shores will get $250,000 to install rain gardens and porous pavement to capture and treat storm water.
