Formula Boats Matriarch Dies at 94

Kristine (Striker) Porter, the matriarch of the Porter family and owner of Formula Boats, died at age 94 on February 12, 2026, following a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Born June 29, 1931, in Geneva, Indiana, she was devoted to her husband of 71 years, the late Victor B. Porter, and played a vital role in family businesses, including the founding and growth of Formula Boats.

Kristine helped Victor through the founding of two boat companies, Duo Inc. in 1958, and Signa Corp. in 1970, and in purchasing Thunderbird Products/Formula in 1976, which has been owned and managed by the Porter family for 50 years. Kristine was involved in the business with marketing projects and employee insurance for many years.

Active in community and church life, Porter also helped lead philanthropic efforts through the Porter Family Foundation. She is remembered for her kindness, leadership and lasting legacy in the boating industry.
