The Inland Seas Education Association (ISEA) in Suttons Bay, Michigan, announced its Going to the Water Summer Stewardship Series, which involves social distancing activities, a video series, virtual events and programs on the water throughout the rest of June and into July and August.

A virtual To the Water Challenge fundraising event will take place in July to raise awareness for water activities. Participants are encouraged to engage with water, reflect and then share their experiences on social media. Those who complete the challenge will win ISEA headwear and they will qualify for other rewards.

Capacity will be at 50%, but sailing programs are returning in August with various safety measures, including social distancing and other safety precautions.

Look out for the Going to the Water Video Series coming in July. ISEA interviews local celebrities about what they love about water.

“We believe people care for the things they love,” says Fred Sitkins, ISEA executive director. “Through all the events in the Going to the Water Stewardship Series, we hope people make the connection that they need to protect the water resources they enjoy.”
