“The traditional lines of the Marlow are what initially drew the owners to Marlow Yachts, but the ability to cruise at 22 knots with the Caterpillar C18 1,150-hp engines is one of the main reasons they chose Marlow,” says Jack Bostock, yacht broker and new build specialist.

The Marlow 58 is part of the company’s Explorer Series, a lineup of yachts that began as an idea in 1995 and quickly progressed through drawings, models and mockups under the scrutiny of the late David Marlow and naval architect Doug Zurn. Today’s Marlow Explorer 58E-CB is a result of decades of solid, quality boat building and continued attention to detail and materials.

The expansive engine room, with readily accessible and critical maintenance check points, is easily managed by the hands-on owner/operator. Crew quarters and a large lazarette complete the arrangement.

The layout includes a three-stateroom arrangement, each with its own ensuite head. A fully found galley is located in the aft section of the raised pilothouse; with the enclosed command bridge topsides, there is no need for a lower helm, enabling the dining room to be especially roomy. The command bridge also delivers an impressive helm, table seating just aft, and an outdoor grill. The main deck salon offers built-in seating, a wetbar, TV/stereo cabinets and a teak coffee table, all surrounded by large windows. The aft deck provides complete protection from the elements, a transom dining table and seating, and an extended upper deck. A stairway leads to the swim platform below for safe and easy access to the water.

David Marlow was a major force in boat building, and his legacy lives on with every yacht launched bearing his name. If you are a long-range cruiser with a desire to take the next step in your nautical travels, then the Marlow Explorer 58E-CB should top your list.
