On a roll

Five years ago, if you were to tell someone that Beneteau Group would be marketing and selling a premier line of luxury performance flybridge motor yachts in the U.S., well, you might’ve gotten some strange looks.

But that’s exactly what the French manufacturer has done  — and very successfully. This fall, it will debut the Monte Carlo MC6 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. At 60 feet in length, she will be the flagship and newest member of the Monte Carlo flybridge motor yacht fleet.

The MC6 has an aggressive, sporty appearance, with its raked-back windshield, the flybridge’s angled lines and mirrored tint on the side windows. But can a 60-foot flybridge motor yacht provide any thrill factor to your boating game? You betcha.

The MC6 is fitted with twin 600-horsepower Cummins QSC8.3 6-cylinder turbo diesels, mated to Zeus pod drives, providing spirited performance and excellent efficiency. Top-end is estimated in the 24- to 26-knot range.

Inside, like all Monte Carlo yachts, the MC6 theme is ultra contemporary. The design ethos is highlighted by the copious use of leather, bleached woods, stone and stainless steel in all the right places. The result is an interior that feels light and airy, yet rich and luxurious. The standard layout is a 3-cabin affair, with a mid-deck master stateroom, a guest stateroom in the bow, and a double-berth cabin to starboard, just ahead of the master stateroom. The main salon features an aft galley, U-shaped dinette, portside lounge and a lower helm station.

While enjoying the outdoor entertaining spaces, relax in the massive cockpit with lounge seating, dip your feet into the water off the spacious swim platform, worship the sun on the massive foredeck, or hang out on the living-room sized flybridge.

Maryline O’Shea, marketing director for Beneteau of the Americas says, “The Monte Carlo line continues to revolutionize the luxury motor cruiser flybridge segment by applying the unique strengths of the Monte Carlo Yachts and Beneteau brands. The new MC6 reaffirms the design synergies between the French and Italian yacht builders — and the result is a fine motor yacht with unique styling and uncompromised performance.”
