Grab your skis or snowshoes and head out to Shady Lane Cellars in Suttons Bay, Michigan, this January and February, when the local winery will be hosting its Sip, Soup and Ski event throughout the winter months. Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to enjoy three miles of groomed trails meandering through the vineyard, which are linked to Traverse City’s longer TART Trail system.

The trails lead right to the tasting room door, where you can gather around the fire and enjoy a curated soup and wine pairing for $16.

For those who don’t have skis, you can easily rent from Suttons Bay Bikes, and they’ll even drop the skis off at the winery for you to enjoy. Just make sure you arrive at the winery by 1 p.m. the day-of for a fitting. Ski rentals cost $30. Head out and enjoy the fresh snow and warm up with soup, wine and some welcoming faces.
