Spirit of Detroit Hydrofest 100th Anniversary Gold Cup

J. Michael Kelly, from Bonney Lake, Washington, drives his Graham Trucking-sponsored unlimited hydroplane into the roostertail turn to claim his first win at the UAW-GM Spirit of Detroit Hydrofest 100th Anniversary Gold Cup race. Kelly averaged 150.15 mph over the 2.7-mile Detroit River racecourse’s five-lap final heat race. Kelly secured the fastest lap with a time of 152.31 mph average. The motor city was the fourth venue on the H1 Unlimited series 2016 schedule.
