The Toronto Hydroplane & Sailing Club celebrated its 75th Anniversary by bringing the “thunder” back to the Ashbridges Bay waterfront in Toronto. Vintage hydroplanes were on display at the public open house on Saturday, June 13, 2026. To commemorate its anniversary, the Club sail past featured two legendary “hero boats”: the CE4 Pure Canadian and The Molinari, as well as static displays and representation from the Toronto Outboard Racing Club and the Antique Outboard Motor Club with a range of vessels representing the age of Canadian powerboat innovation, reports Boating Industry Canada.
The Toronto Hydroplane & Sailing Club was founded in 1951 as the Toronto Hydroplane Club, and was the epicenter for local powerboat enthusiasts. Today, it retains its position as a vital community hub for boating, sailing and on-water enthusiasts.
