Go outside and play.
By Chuck Warren
On one of the most beautiful days of the entire summer, I had the privilege of getting a ride on the new 2027 Tiara Yachts 35 LS at the company’s waterfront facility in Holland, Michigan.

I do think any boat ride is a good boat ride, but a Lake Michigan cruise in the sun with flat, calm seas is always a treat.
There’s no mistaking the success of Tiara’s LS line of Luxury Sport cruisers. From its entry-level 34-foot model to the class-leading 56-footer, the Luxury Sport series has been a hit with Tiara’s customers and a leading force in the boating industry.
But Tiara also pays close attention to customer feedback, and the company takes owner wish lists into careful consideration. For that reason, it took the 34 LS back to the drawing board and redesigned the boat based on owner use and recommendations. For 2027, Tiara Yachts has released the 35 LS to replace its popular 34-footer.
A change in perspective
While the older model was designed as a comfortable overnighter, Tiara found that its customers primarily used it as a dayboat. The new 35 LS reflects that change in perspective. Although the boat is still a comfortable overnighter, Tiara’s design team focused more on the 35-footer’s outdoor living features by adding more room and functionality to the main deck.
From the dock, the 35 LS retains the beautiful lines and sleek profile of its older sibling. The arched black supports and black frame on the curved, one-piece windshield give the hardtop a floating appearance, complementing the lines rather than competing with them.
The most significant redesign feature is not immediately apparent until you step onboard. By adding an additional 6 inches to the beam, Tiara created substantially more room throughout the boat without sacrificing the “Sport” half of the LS model name. The additional space creates more seating and footpaths that do not require dance experience to navigate. The wider passage means there’s no need to turn sideways to access the comfortable bow seating area.
Below, the full-height cabin is roomy and bright, with a nicely sized wet head. The cabin provides a comfortable space to change, get out of the sun, or put kids down for a nap, while the cabin seating very quickly and easily converts into a queen-size berth with the simple flip of a cushion.
Below and aft, a large finished storage space can hold luggage, supplies or water toys. The space is easily accessible by flipping the cabin entry steps up and out of the way so there is no need to squeeze around them.
Go play
In keeping with the “go outside and play” design perspective, all of the galley features have been moved to the main deck. Positioned directly behind the helm seat, the large countertop makes it easy to serve drinks and prepare food. The galley includes a sink and can also house an optional grill, while cold storage and an optional second fridge is found underneath the helm seats.
Although the aft-facing lounge seat is positioned against the galley, Tiara made great use of the cockpit space with one of its most innovative features. Press a button, and the entire forward passenger seat slides aft, providing a walkway behind the galley where the crew can take on more ambitious food preparation tasks, or just stand while underway thanks to perfectly positioned handrails.
The adjustable forward seat also makes it possible to choose from several different configurations. With the seat slid aft, the galley is more of a focal point and six people can sit around an optional cockpit table. The two lounges can also be converted into a large sunpad by flipping both backrests down.
No matter which position the adjustable lounge is in, there is still plenty of room to comfortably move around the cockpit thanks to the additional 6 inches of beam.
Get underway
At the helm, the 35 LS features a standard Garmin GPSMAP 9217 display, with room for an optional second display. ZipWake trim control is standard, as is a Lewmar bow thruster. Mercury’s joystick controls, Skyhook positioning, and autopilot come standard with the Verado 425-hp engine package.
Underway, the 35 LS is smooth and quiet. The helm is beautifully designed with controls and displays positioned within easy reach. Although our test ride was under ideal conditions, we were able to cross some wakes and get a good feel for the boat’s hull design.
Equipped with the Verado 425-hp engine package, the 35 LS planed quickly and with almost no bow rise, then cruised comfortably at about 35 mph. At wide-open throttle, we easily topped out at just over 50 mph. At cruise or wide open, engine and hull noise never intruded on a normal conversation.
Although the 35 LS includes a long list of standard features, available options include cockpit air conditioning, a 5kW diesel generator and a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer. A retractable cockpit sunshade is standard, while a Mediterranean sunshade is available for the bow.
Whether hopping between ports on the weekend or hitting the sandbar for the afternoon, the 2027 Tiara Yachts 35 LS has created the perfect platform for boaters to go outside and play.
