The past meets the present.

Esteemed brands like Chris-Craft, Roamer, Slick Craft and Tiara have all helped shape the town’s vibrant maritime heritage. A few of these builders are still around today, and recently, another company was added to that impressive list: Verano Boat Works, which just launched its first model, the Verano V25.
Verano Boat Works founders Mike Teusink and Kirk Wingard set out to create a boat that captures the timeless appeal of a vintage mahogany runabout — without the upkeep and reliability concerns that often come with owning a classic. What they developed was a perfect blend of the two. The V25 has many modern features, like a single full-width windshield, V8 power and a swim platform for lake activities. The modern Ilmor 6.2L V8 can propel the boat up to 50 mph. Driving and docking are effortless with the advanced digital throttle, shift and stern thruster controls.
“There were two features on the boat that presented the toughest challenge, but… made all the difference in the result,” Teusink says. The first is the double curved transom, which is a bubble-shaped design. “This is easy to do with a fiberglass mold, but doing it repeatedly with wood is a much different story.”
The dashboard, one giant carved piece of mahogany, was the other design idea that was brought to reality.
With a capacity for up to 10 passengers, the layout is both versatile and family friendly. A concealed Fusion stereo system, integrated cup holders with chargers and a cabin heater add to the versatility of the boat. One of the greatest advantages of building a boat like this is the ability to tailor it to each owner.
Blending style with modern engineering, the V25 is a handcrafted runabout that offers an impressive mix of performance, beauty and everyday practicality.
“Once you see it up close, you will want to experience it on the water,” Teusink adds.
